Simple Bottom HUD For GB Studio
A downloadable asset pack for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
This is a simple project file that adds a bottom HUD bar to your GB Studio project. You are free to use as-is, or learn from the code to expand on the concept and make it your own. *Created in GB Studio 4.1.0*
HUD graphics should be 160x8 pixels and appear at 0,0 of your scene. For best results, your platforming scene should be tall enough that your player will never see the original bar, since it will still appear in your scene. Of course, you can also modify the graphics and code in the project file to put the HUD at the top of the project.
This project uses variable 500 (PlayerHealth) and variable 501 (TimerCount), which both can be set at Scene Init or in a previous scene. Again... you can use the concepts in this project and customize to have more than three hearts or add more time. ReplaceTile wants to locate any matching tile, hence the unique markings to allow the engine to target the specific tiles it needs to replace.
